Great Commuter Diamondback Bikes - What You Should Know About This Cycling equipment

For whatever who has to commute on daily basis on a bike as to how comfortable his bike should be in comparison to its looks and efficiency. All the factors have an important place when it comes to buying a bike for your daily traveling needs.

Personally I would not like to be seen on an ugly finding bike which may be very comfortable, but on the other hand my wife will not compromise on comfort. The efficiency factor is tasteless for both of us, because if the bike is not productive or is too heavy, we will end up huffing and puffing half way to home.
After a lot of investigate in the shop and on the internet we came across a bike which we both for once agreed upon (we both love to tour on identical bikes).

BMX Equipment

We had used ease bikes (My wife's selection) which I did not approve in appearance and neither were they productive enough. Then we went for road bikes (My choice) and my wife kept complaining of discomfort, but they were comparatively more productive and less tiring for me.

Though we both enjoyed trying out the mountain bikes, but decided against them as they do not suit our personality (We both are in late forties and are college professors who teach philosophy and Math at a local college ) which we have to maintain in front of our students who most are fervent users of them.

What clicked us most were the hybrid diamondback bikes. I will without any hesitation accept that I also find our newest discovery very comfortable and productive in paddling. They are even good to look at. My wife has no complaints about this and probably this will be the one we will stay with for a long time, as diamondback bikes are not just good finding they are very light weight as compared to the ease bike and far more productive than a quarterly road bike. These high carrying out bikes are great at keeping us in good health and great corporal health as far as shape and muscle build up is concerned.

What I would suggest my friends who are out there reading my article, that daily commuting should be avoided by means of powered transport as much as potential for health and well being reasons. Our world is getting physically unfit at a very fast rate. The only think is that we have removed all aspects of corporal rehearsal from our habit and we also do not get time for special workouts.

Airsoft Gun Eye safety equipment and Why You Should Use It

As a mom of sons who enjoy the sport of airsoft gun wars with the use of pellets, I wanted to share with you a study done concerning eye injuries. This report/study was conducted by our friends who are ophthalmologist that specialize in retina surgery. I will endeavor to paraphrase so that we laypeople might great understand their findings. Essentially the emphasis is on consistent use of protective equipment, especially goggles or full facemasks.

Since the early 80's, airsoft guns have been used for:

BMX Equipment

-military training situations
-airsoft gun competition
-training of law obligation and protection
-recreational airsoft gun shooting, ordinarily in simulated war games.

Airsoft Gun Eye safety equipment and Why You Should Use It

Many entrepreneurs initially purchased equipment and leased land to promote these war games. Each person is equipped with carbon dioxide-powered gun and protective eyewear. As airsoft guns and pellets have come to be easier to obtain, the use of these risky weapons at home has come to be more popular.

Each player at a war game facility is required to wear eye protection consisting of goggles or full facial headgear. Sometimes the goggles may be knocked off during play or may come to be foggy or dirty and be removed temporarily for cleaning. Although such facilities require eye protection, no such requirements exist at other sites, like at home.

Many eye injuries have been reported since 1985 concerning the pellet injuries. Most of these reports indicate that failure to wear eye protection resulted in injury, though some injuries occurred despite proper use of eye protection.

Results: Eye injury in 10 patients, 7 of the ten did not have eye protection at the time of injury, 2 patients had goggles in position (the pellet entered under the goggles), and 1 inpatient wore a full-face helmet. Only one inpatient was playing at an airsoft game facility, and the other 9 were playing recreationally at home or a friend's home.

Six patients had surgery. At the one year follow up of these patients: all who had surgery for the airsoft pellet injury had improvement in final visual acuity compared to their initial visual acuity assessment. The 4 patients who did not have surgery had the best initial visual acuity, but did not however, have the best final visual acuity.

Conclusion: Blunt trauma to the eye caused by these pellets can follow in severe ocular injury and permanent loss of vision. Emphasis by manufacturers on eye protection measures and mandatory packaging of eye protection with all airsoft-related items might be helpful to social protection education in reducing visual injury from these airsoft war games. Therefore, take precautions during play and when you buy airsoft guns, please buy eye protection and Use It during play. Your eye site would be a terrible thing to loose.

Factual basis of this report is from a study done by branch of Ophthalmology and Vitreoretinal Surgery, University of Alabama at Birmingham, School of Medicine.

Bmx Bikes - Et and the Olympics

When I was a kid I all the time wanted a Bmx. I asked for one of these two wheeled wonders for every Christmas and every birthday. Unfortunately my house wasn't particularly well off and I had to conclude for a pre owned, black, re painted 5 gear racing bicycle.

Don't get me wrong, I loved it and it became a treasured ownership but I still couldn't help covet a shiny new Bmx! Having said that, after watching the movie E.T back in the early 80's I also believed that if I had a Bmx bike that I would be able to fly over my house on it! Years later, pilotage over houses in videogames was scant consolation!

BMX Equipment

Of course back in those days the whole Bmx thing was brand new and on Christmas mornings the streets seemed to be full of kids zooming up and down pavements, which were littered with crude home made and often perilous ramps, on their new bicycles, the large majority of which were the phenomena that was to come to be Bmx.

Strangely enough, despite the many stunts these bikes are capable of performing, none of them ever did fly over the house, and not even Mad Jimmy from whole 14 could do it and boy did he try!

More than 30 years later and although Bmx bikes still cannot fly they are still very cool and are more beloved than ever. For the first time in its history in 2008 they became a prosperous part of the Olympic Games in Beijing.

At the 2008 Olympics, racing was the only Bmx discipline to take part but with the ever growing popularity of the sport in general, it is only a matter of time before Freestyle is included too.

Flatland Bmx riding is yet someone else style of riding that is growing in popularity and as with other forms of Bmx discipline requires great skill to master.

Having such a mix of styles within the sport, maybe it is not surprising to gawk that there many, many different models of Bmx bike. Each discipline is so different that it commonly requires a bike specifically built for that purpose, with different weights and general designs to suit not only the discipline but also the private riders.

Famous riders get bikes designed not only with their name branding it, but often with their own specifications too.

With so much collection and selection out there, it shouldnt be a qoute getting hold of the Bmx bike you want, either for yourself or for a relative to unwrap on Christmas morning to once more go hurtling up the street, thrilled to bits with their new Bmx.

foremost Snowboarding Clothes

Snowboarding is fun and inviting but if you do not have the definite and proper snowboarding clothes, the fun and excitement will disappear very fast.

One of the most prominent snowboarding clothes is the jacket. Your jacket should have the capacity to keep you warm and dry. Remember, snow can turn into water very speedily once it comes in touch with your body heat and the feeling is never nice. Therefore, you jacket should be waterproof. Make sure that the lining of your jacket is thick adequate to keep you warm but at the same time your jacket should not hinder your movement. Your jacket should fit you snugly while ensuring it does not cut into you. You can either opt for a parka with a hood or a ski jacket depending on what you are comfortable with.

BMX Equipment

Besides the jacket, pay special concentration to your pants. They should be waterproof just like your jacket. Clothes manufacturers make snowboarding pants with suspenders which are similar to waders made for fishing. While other snowboarding pants are just like conventional pants.

Do not endeavor to do snowboarding without a pair of warm gloves which do not restrict the mobility of your hands. Make sure your gloves fit you well on the wrist to seal out the cold. Though scarves are not significant for snowboarding, they have their use. You can use scarves to cover your nose and mouth if the weather goes from bad to worse. If you are wearing a scarf, make sure it is waterproof.

The most prominent part of your snowboarding clothes is your helmet. It is designed to safe you from the cold and from any serious head injuries in case of an accident.

Once you have all the significant clothing for snowboarding, you are all set to conquer the snow.

Getting the Right Mountain Bike Parts

I once had a great mountain bike; it was pretty cool till it got old. no ifs ands or buts about 8 years old, but I still liked it so I decided to get it upgraded. I went colse to looking for the parts that I carefully needed the upgrades. I asked colse to and finally decided to get my paddles, brakes and my rotor changed. My bike was not the same. In fact I hated it, even though they were the top of the line parts, but they wouldn't click.

What most of the population do when it comes to upgrading a bike is they go for the parts that fancy them, without inspecting the utility and compatibility and this is exactly what I did. Wrong move I had to get rid of all of them and go back to the original compatible parts.

BMX Equipment

The bike was the same again the way I loved it. A incorporate of months later, I met a guy who was into bike more than just riding one like me, he gave me a few tips which made understand that getting the right parts was so leading that it is best not to go for the upgrade rather than paying a hefty amount on top of the line parts and then later regretting your action.

Getting the Right Mountain Bike Parts

Tip # 1

Check out with a friend who has replaced his parts recently and get the feel by riding his bike. If you like those changes only then think of getting that done.

Tip # 2

Always consult an expert. You are likely to find one at the bike shop and tell him your bike's model and what you desire out of your upgrade. In most of the cases he will be able to guide you correctly and help you chose the right parts.

Tip #3

It is not needful that the most costly and the most recent versions are the best for you. Keep the fact into notice that you have to get the best out of your bike.

High-Quality Mountaineering Gears Are a Must Have!

There is no doubt that mountaineering is an enchanting performance and very challenging. It has big life risks though. Therefore, you need to have a very good set of equipment. In fact, climbing gear is probably the most foremost aspect of this activity. For some people, it is confusing and sometimes frustrating to find the best gear. One thing a mountaineer should keep in mind before purchasing the gear is that these items must be durable and trustworthy for protection measures. Along with the climbing ropes, harnesses and helmets, you must have a good place to sleep, a map guides, good clothes, and good tent.

However, the ropes are probably the most foremost climbing gear you will use. They must be able to carry your weight and they have to be very strong to avoid any danger such as falling. If you haven't noticed, the vast majority of climbers use just one rope that has a very good handling quality.

BMX Equipment

Climbing robes are made out of braided nylon fibers. They normally have a sharp edge resistant, and they are very light. The climbing harnesses must allow free movement and a feeling of being safe for climbers. The harness that restricts your movement will not only be uncomfortable, but also very dangerous. Having an extra padding with wider waistband is also a good idea. Keep your eyes wide open on the harness stitching and the tying points. A harness that deteriorates should not be used anymore. It is best to purchase a new one than to use a harness that exposes you to real dangers.

High-Quality Mountaineering Gears Are a Must Have!

Also the weight of your helmet is very foremost and it should be considered when you purchase your mountain climbing gear. It must be light, durable and very comfortable. The headband must be adjustable for more comfort. When you are climbing in very cold conditions, your helmet must have side vents.

It would be best if you can afford a second carabiner. Most of mountaineering professionals have a second one. They come in two types: locking and unlocking, also in two shapes: the oval-shaped carabiners have a good versatility while D-shaped carabiners have a very good gate opening. This makes it easier for clipping your rope. The carabiner has an sway on the endurance of your rope. A good one will prolong the life span of your rope.

Studded motorcycle Snow Tires

Last Christmas (2007) my parents bought me Studded Snow Tires (Innova Studded Winter Tire - 26 inch X 1.9 inch with 104 studs) for my Mountain Bike. These tires worked great at first. With the extra aggressive tread pattern and the metal studs I felt very unavoidable biking on snow covered trails. Even though the tires worked great for most situations they didn't work if there was ice under the snow. I did crash a integrate of times because of this but I didn't get hurt (at least not seriously).

I was happy with the tires until the a integrate of months later. Some of the studs fell out. I believe this was my fault for ridding too aggressively. You have to turn your riding style when you have studded tires. You cannot stop speedily (unless you need to for security reasons). And you have to go nearby corners slower or the studs can be pulled out. You can buy transfer studs for this tire but the missing studs didn't make a big inequity so I never bothered.

BMX Equipment

Now it is the beginning of December 2008 and I am putting these tires back on my bike. But I have noticed that the studs are worn down and do not make a huge inequity anymore. Unfortunately, the studs in this tire are hardened steel and not carbide which is much harder and longer lasting. As I mentioned before, you can buy transfer studs for the tire but you can roughly buy new tires for the price of the transfer studs.

I would not buy these tires again. I would spend the extra money and get studded tires with carbide studs instead. There is no point in buying tires that only last half of the winter season.

How To choose Your Child's 1st Bmx motorcycle

It's been on my heart to write this description for some time now. This description is written to serve parents everywhere when shopping for their boy or girl's first Bmx bike!

For over 7 years I operated my own bike shop out of my parents home in Mesa, Arizona, Donnie's bicycle Shop, and it thrills me to no end to be able to share some key facts with you!

BMX Equipment

First, let's talk about Bmx bike names and where you should or shouldn't buy your son or daughter's first bike. You can't go wrong with Haro. Haro Bmx has been colse to for so long and they keep coming up with new and innovative designs. Also, brilliant Back is trustworthy, lightweight, and again, the company is rock solid. Red-Line Bmx is also highly recommended.

Mongoose is my Bmx line of choice when purchased from a real bike shop that knows what they are doing. Mongoose has been making Bmx bikes that kick everybody's tails for years, and they make the most gorgeous bikes! But your going to have to consult your local real bike shop owner, because you don't want to buy from Wal-Mart or other chain store. Also, you may want to taste Mongoose directly and invite a race-bike Bmx inventory only.

My first Bmx bike was a bike called the Jag Bmx by Mongoose, and the bike served me well for many years. If you can get ahold of one, it's sure worth it. My first bike had a glossy cream-orange frame, with white MotoMags. I recommend Motomags. But be careful, no Motomag imitations, and there are a ton of them. The mag has to say Motomag on it.

A word about grips! Today's Bmx bikes are coming out with some of the most uncomfortable grips for the kids' hands! Have the bike shop owner show you the array of grips available, and to me, a foam style is the best, or a indubitably soft gel rubber is ok too. I always loved the foam grips when jumping because they discharge the shock of the fall!

Watch out for Gt's Dyno line. The frames on most of them are not as solid and if you don't believe me, go to your neighborhood thrift store, and you'll see a ton of Gt Dyno's. I personally would not buy my son or daughter a Gt bike, unless it was one of their top of the line models. I also had a qoute airborne with them upon landing, when compared to the awesome Mongoose Bmx, my dad bought for me at the local bike shop in Mesa.

Buy your child's bike from a regular bike shop. Do not buy it at Wal-Mart, Target, Costco, or Sam's Club. These bikes carry the names Schwinn, Mongoose, and more, but let me certify you, they are not the real Mccoy!

That said, also watch out for high pressure bike salespeople. Believe it or not, they are out there! If they have such a good product, why do they have to pressure sale you?

Back to brand names. If you are going to buy a Schwinn, Mongoose, or other at one time well-trusted bike, deal with the company directly or a reputable bike shop in the area. You won't find any Wal-Mart Bmx bikes in your local bicycle shop!

Now, as to hardware! If you're going to get your son or daughter a bike make sure you invest in ultra lightweight aluminum or chromoly rims. So many bikes out there are being sold with cheap rims and cranksets. It's worth the extra one to two hundred dollars to get your child the very best components. They will last longer and your child will have one of the best and baddest Bmx bikes on the block!

That said, invest in three piece aluminum cranks or one piece aluminum, titanium, or chromoly or anything other space-shuttle type of materials they have! Don't opt-out for regular steel cranks. Get a bike that has a lifetime or at least a twenty year frame warranty.

If you want to buy a vintage Bmx bike from e-bay or a local auction, invest in the 1984 Schwinn Sting. That bike is totally bad to the bone man. Any newer versions of the Schwinn Sting should be purchased as well.

Ok, let's talk about rims. Rims need to be light. So many Bmx bikes have heavy bulky rims. Rims should be lightweight alloy. Also, you want to invite sealed bearing hubs because they don't need any maintenance, approximately ever, and they make them on the best Bmx bikes everywhere.

Also, trust your child. If they love the bike, it's the bike for them. But let them know you love them enough to invite upgrades on the rims, tires, and brakes!

Also, Bmx bikes should have mid-range to best brakes. Get alloy again, or high dollar brakes. This is your child's protection for goodness sakes! You know how many cheap brakes there are on Bmx bikes? You don't want to know, believe me. I've broken several myself over the years!

If the bike offers it, it's ok to get the acceptable hub that breaks with their right leg as well, and handbrakes, double the stopping power! Also, out in Mesa, Arizona, I can't count all the times I've fishtailed with my Bmx bike with that feature! You may not get that on some of the higher end bikes, but on many you still will! Ask for both if they have it, the coaster brake style with handbrakes!

Invest in a mid-range helmet, that is Ansi Certified and is labeled by them. Get gloves that are of exquisite ability as well. Every Bmx bike should have goosekneck, handlebar, and top frame pads, bare minimum, do not let your child take the bike without them.

Frames that are welded should have gorgeous thick welds that you'd want to eat off them. Don't buy any bike with ugly seeing welds. Also, watch out for over priced bikes that have gorgeous welds but low componentry.

I always like to buy my Bmx bikes with similar equipment too! If hubs, cranks, brakes, and so forth are all Shimano, that's a good thing. The bike is Shimano equipped. I'd steer clear of Bmx bikes that have lightweight handlebars, but heavy cranks, hubs, and are made by 10 distinct companies!

In conclusion, there are only a few key things to remember. Weight. Get the lowest weight rims, hubs, and components that are of the top quality. It is ok to have a heavier frame, but don't compromise on wheels, tires, or most of all-brakes! Buy a Haro, Diamond-Back, Red-Line, or Mongoose from a Bike Dealer, and your going to be happy! Don't buy from the local chain shop anymore, ever! Buy direct from your local bike shop that knows Bmx!

Lastly, have fun, and jump! If you can't jump the bike, don't buy it. The frames should be cleared for jumping! And remember, most of all, your Bmx bike will be a part of your son or daughter's life for at least 5-7 years, so go ahead, spend a consolidate hundred more for good components. And remember, to hit a ramp, fly up, hold the bars, kick the rear wheel out, and just hang on, feeling nothing but the air and rising above the earth, on a Bmx Bike, is something your child will never ever forget and will pass on from generation to generation.

choosing a Bmx Stem

Upgrading your bike with a new Bmx stem will customize your ride to your comfort level. With an aftermarket Bmx stem you resolve your reach distance and how high or low you want your Bmx handlebars to set. You can give your bike a wholly new image by purchasing Bmx pegs to match the stem and other coordinating accessories as well.

You will find many styles of Bmx stems available-enough to match every personality. Beyond just color and texture decisions, you must select in the middle of quill-type stems and threadless. When you setup the stem, the threadless type will clamp onto the steerer. The older quill style, however, attaches to the inside of the tube by compression.

BMX Equipment

These stems are also rated agreeing to the angle. When seeing to upgrade a bike, test out a merge styles or at least get a close idea of what angle you need so that you buy a stock in keeping with your needs. You do not want to have to adapt to an awkward bike (and a backache) if you purchased the wrong stem.

Each day seems to bring a new style or improvement to bike stems. Aluminum alloy stems provide a cost savings most of the time except for the high-grade alloys which cost much more than the carbon stems. Carbon fiber stems add strength, less weight, and help Ant. Eject a lot more road vibrations, although they cost a little bit more than most aluminum stems. On some bikes a titanium stem adds a extra touch, reduces weight, and costs a bit more than most aluminum or carbon types. When shopping, you may go for the more functional stems from associates like Black Ops or Thompson. North Shore Billet and Chromag offer direct mount stems for clear bike types. Others may select from the many designs by Shadow Conspiracy, Sputnik, Animal, and Kore, to name a few.

When you shop for the stem, know the size of your handlebars and the steerer tube. Once these details are known, you can resolve on distance and drop. In particular, stem distance controls the response of the front wheel-longer stems delay response where shorter ones turn more quickly. Depending on your past scar record, you may also want to consider a more streamlined or rounded stem to avoid sharp edges that may injure.

With a well chosen Bmx stem, you can relax as your bike stands out from the rest.

The Bunny Hop on Your Bike

The bunny hop stands at the basis of numerous Bmx tricks. Man does a bunny hop when they jump gradually, not at once. A lot of beginners make mistakes and lift both of their wheels at once.

The bunny hop consists of three moves. One of them is about lifting your front wheel, then you move on to lifting your back wheel and, last but not least, you have to sit tight and push your motorcycle forward. At first, it doesn't of course matter how far away you jump as long as you make the right move. In time, you will result in jumping further. So, you want to jump over a kerb or over an obstacle and the main idea is to lift your front wheel so that it overcomes the obstacle without leaning backwards.

BMX Equipment

You have to lift the handlebar to your abdomen and your feet need to be parallel with the ground. Once you have reached the proper height, you have to lift your back wheel. If you want to lift your bike even more, you have to sit tight and push your motorcycle forward. Your back wheel has to be very close to your buttocks and so, your bunny hop is higher. Once you have learned this move, all you need to do is to practise it. In the beginning, you should try jumping over small boxes and then move on to bigger ones.

The Bunny Hop on Your Bike

This is a very provocative trick you can do, so learn it and feel the delight you get for doing something provocative with your bike.

A Guide to Mountain Bike Parts - What You Should admittedly Know About This equipment

If you understand the parts of a mountain bike, then you can also understand the working of a bike. This is especially important when you are mountain biking along deserted paths as your mountain bike can break down at any moment. A clear insight of the different bike parts can help you fix the bike should something go wrong.

A typical mountain bike is smaller than other bikes as this makes the bike easier to control. This is because the frame is smaller than the other normal bikes. When you buy a mountain bike, you should look for one that you can de facto maneuver. This means you must get it customized according your size and gender. Fortunately, most manufacturers offer customized bikes to their customers.

BMX Equipment

An important part of a mountain bike is the handlebar. This is flat and long and ordinarily spans the shoulders of the rider. They can be adjusted to a position that is comfortable for the rider.

If you know this, then you can adjust the handlebar whenever it goes out of position. The crank and the derailleur are the other bike parts. The crank, as you all know, has the pedals and the derailleur is the part the enables you to shift gears when you are riding.

The best the quality of the derailleur the best accuracy with which you can shift gears. The part to shift the gear is on the handlebar and there are different types like thumb shifter, rapid fire and grip shifters. The gears come with many different specifications. The most base one is 36 x 34. You can adjust the pedalling power by selecting the thorough gear.

The brake is another important bike part. There are two types of brakes and these are the V-brakes and the disc brakes. Brakes are as important as the gears on your mountain bike.

You should also ensure that your tires are of the best quality and they have irregularity grip as this will come in handy when you want to navigate tough terrains. If the pedals are strong and they have a toe saddle, then your feet will not slip when you are pedalling on steep surfaces.

Pioneer of Women's Bmx Freestyle & First Women to do a Backflip - Cory Coffey

Your Name: Miss Cory Coffey

Age: 24

BMX Equipment

Hometown: Ojai, California

Pioneer of Women's Bmx Freestyle & First Women to do a Backflip - Cory Coffey

Sponsors: Dc, Specialized, Odi, and Utopia Optics

How did you get started into riding Bmx?

There were some younger boys in my neighborhood that raced bmx bikes, and they encouraged me to go get one... So I did and started going to the race track with them. I raced for about 3 years and then realized that I didnt like to pedal all that much, so I started going to a local indoor skatepark and that was the beginning of my ramp riding... 7 years ago, wow!

You were the first girl to do a backflip. What made you do it, how many times did it take, and whats the process behind doing it.

Yes, I was the first woman in the world to ever do a backflip on a bike... I was 19 years old and was spending a merge of months in Pennsylvania at Woodward Camp.. A guy by the name of Jay Rodriguez was joking nearby with me one day saying that we were going to learn backflips that night... I said yeah sure whatever.. Well I guess he was more serious than I thought.. So that night I started learning them into the foam pit.. I think the second try I honestly got the rotation down, and within a week or so I was pulling them on the box jump. I then unleashed it at a contest there at Woodward called the Cfb contest. I crashed pretty bad the first two times, but the adreneline was pumping and I was determined to pull it... The third time I pulled it. I never honestly idea it was that big of a deal... Now that I think back on it, it is pretty cool to make history. Basically its one of the easiest tricks in the book I think.. All you have to do is commit to it... Make sure you have adequate speed, a good adequate box jump, and just lean back, spot your landing and there ya go!

What other sports do you enjoy doing then?

I honestly enjoy snowboarding in the winter and occassionally mt. Biking... I also like to play nearby on skateboards. I grew up riding a skateboard so its always fun.

What was it like to be one of the only female riders in a male dominated
sport?

Well when I was younger, I never honestly realized I was the only girl at the skatepark. As the years went on, I idea it was pretty cool. I could keep up with the guys, and the guy to girl ratio was obviously in my favor. Haha

Besides yourself, there are a amount of other female rider who have really
made some headway in pushing the sport for the girls. What do you think
about the women's scene as a whole?

I think that it is def. Growing which is awesome.. And I am finding more and more events that are along with womens categories which is pretty awesome. A few years ago that was unheard of...

What women riders come to mind and what are your thoughts on your
competitive opponents?

Thats one thing that I dont enjoy is competitiveness... Thats what I didnt like about racing... I just look at it as me riding my bike having a good time, traveling the world, and meeting new people.

Is it contentious among the girls, or is it more of a friendship?

I think there are def. Some population out there that are competitive, but that comes with any sport. I know a lot of the girls are just like me and are just excited to see other girls riding.

Where do you see the future of women's Bmx going?

Honestly, who knows. The world is endless in opportunities, and if we keep pushing the limits, it could be just like any other sport.

Do other female athletes from other sports inspire you? If so, who?

Yes, I am always inspiried by other women athletes... Aimee Mullins is a para olympic athlete that is more than amazing... Her courage, strength, and her just being who she is pushes me. I think that the free skier Sarah Burke is awesome.. Lisa Whittaker in skateboarding is honestly awesome, along with Cara-beth Burnside in skating and snowboarding.

What else do you do also riding Bmx - hobbies, activites, travels?

I love to hang out with friends, go to the beach, hike, eat food. Traveling is such an awesome thing as well.. I love going to new places and meeting people, experiencing dissimilar cultures/food.

Do you have a popular movie star or movie?

I have a few popular movies... Vanilla Sky, Donnie Darko, and the Winged Migration.

Who are your popular bands / singers?

BoySetsFire, The Spill Canvas, and Jose Gonzalez.

Where is your popular place to voyage to and why?

Probably the coolest place I've ever been was Africa... I honestly want to go back there.. So much stuff to do, gorgeous scenery, astonishing people, and just one of the most places on earth!!

What did you want to be when you were growing up (besides a pro rider)?

I've always wanted to be a housewife. I'm also currently completing my Bachelor of Science Degree in Fire protection administration Technology at Cal State Los Angeles.

Do you have any words for all the girls out there reading this?

If you want something in life, go and get it. Custom honestly does make perfect. Don't ever let anything or anything stand in the way of your dreams!

Shout Outs & Thank yous?

Thank you to Dwayne Taylor for always believing in me, friends, family, Specialized for always giving me my bikes, all my sponsors, and to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

One of the biggest reasons why kids enjoy cycling around may be the one they don't realise. Being in operate of a bike and being able to go where they want speedily offers them possibly the first taste of leisure in their lives. Children will spend most of their lives at home or at school and may be able to go and hang out with their friends outside. A bike offers them much more leisure to move around at will. While they may not be able to put a name on the feeling, they indeed feel more free on a bike.

Transport

If you drive then you know what it was like when you first started driving on your own. You could forget the bus, stop waiting for lifts from friends and house and stop walking completely as having your own mode of converyance is a great feeling. Not only does this give you leisure it is also a practicality that you can suddenly appreciate. Going to the shops is less of a chore, going to your friend's house takes a fraction of the time and you can even take yourself to school.

Showing Off

Being able to jump off a kerb, over a pot hole and then back up onto the opposite kerb may not look that impressive to you, but to a kid that shows that they are in operate of their 'vehicle' and that they can do something skillful which their friends just might be envious of. Not only this but if they have a bike which is a inevitable colour or which has Bmx grips or is some kind of hybrid bike, this all adds up to a great tool for showing off.

Exercise

Even though they may not know it, kids enjoy the practice they get from cycling. If you offered them a cycling machine in their bedroom it would probably never get used. But give them a blue Bmx bike with a whole skate park to ride around in, they will be off like a shot and not come back until dark. practice releases satisfaction chemicals in everyone's body so part of the smile they get from cycling is down to this inadvertent exercise.

Bmx - The Toughest Cycling Sport

Bmx Racing:

A typical Bmx race consists of a beginning gate in which 8 riders or less line up and wait for a cadence to sound. Both well known federations, the Aba and Nbl have similar cadences with Christmas Tree lights off to the side for riders to time their starts. The tracks usually start out with a sprint to the first obstacle which is typically a jump or series of jumps all the way to the first turn. The jumps themselves can be step up, step downs, table tops, doubles, triples, or worse. The first turn is usally dirt, sometimes paved blacktop which adds a distinct dimension. The rest of the track layout is usually made of jumps, a rythym section and a small sprint to the close line. Typically races last about 50 seconds and are highly grueling on the body. A combination of power, endurance, agility, and intelligence make up the faultless racer. The top Pro's in the sport are typically some of the best conditioned athletes in the world.

Starting from California (United States) in the late 60's, Bmx was the most popular way for teenagers to imitate motocross champions. The founder of Bmx is called Scot Breithaupt w(the "Om" of Bmx) while the bike racing documentary "On Any Sunday" is widely suitable and credited for challenging the whole movement nationally. Although the sport spread very quickly, it wasn't until the middle of the decade that the bike constructors started producing real Bmx - oriented bikes. an additional one very important person that needs to be mentioned here is Bob Haro; he is the person who merged Bmx and skateboarding tricks together and without him the whole project wouldn't have industrialized so far.
